[climm] contacts upload fails

Recently my contact list became empty. I've read mailing list
archive and turned on obeysbl, then uploaded contact list.
It worked partially, but it fails with following error message:

climm> contact upload
Uploading 0 contact groups and 2 contacts.

Warning: server based contact list change failed with error code 16.

Now I have a friend who has me in her contact list but i'm invisible
to here despite of * before her nick. If I remove her and add again
I get the same error:

climm> rem xyz
Removed contact 'xyz' (123456789).
Note: You need to 'save' to write new contact list to disc.
Contact error 14 (syntax error) for 0 contacts:
climm> add 123456789 xyz
123456789 added as xyz.

Yeech.

Is there any way to fix this problem? My contact list is much shorter
that it was before this ordeal...
